The why is the Mission & Vision.

01

Find a Biblical Church

Getting connected to a solid, Biblical church is one of the first steps you can take for your own faith and the faith of your family. Church is first and foremost the gathering of saints to worship Jesus Christ.

Here are a few marks as you search for a church:

  • The entire Bible is declared from the pulpit as God’s Word, and they seek to apply it faithfully to your life. No TED talks.
  • The sacraments are observed regularly and faithfully.
  • The elders will actually hold church members accountable to their words and actions.
  • Bonus points if they sing the psalms, celebrate communion weekly, and are already reformationally-minded.

Avoid churches that have already made compromises with liberalism, feminism, or homosexuality. Avoid the sentimentalism and emotionalism that dominates many modern worship services, and find churches committed to the historic Christian faith, to a Biblical sexual ethic, and to standing against the cultural currents of the age.

02

Start Family Worship

Family worship does not need to be complicated. Gather your family, read a short passage, sing a song or psalm that matches your family’s skill level, and close with the Lord’s prayer and doxology.

It has been said that the family that prays together stays together, and experience has validated this saying. Family worship centers and stabilizes your family under the rule and love of Jesus Christ.

Too many men don’t start because they’re intimidated. Don’t let that be you. Start simple, but make a start, and you will be amazed at the results.

03

Cultural Engagement

Jesus Christ is the Lord of all of life, which means He is Lord of our culture, He is Lord of the public sphere, He is Lord of America, and He is Lord of everything we do with our hands.

Your job is to act like that is true. This begins by leading your family faithfully according to the Word of God, building strong businesses that are submitted to His economic principles and not to the snake’s principles, and growing skillful in a craft.

Retreat is not an option, but neither is revolution. Reformation means patient working towards a unified vision of creation under the rule of Christ, and crafting the good, the true, and the beautiful into everything you do.

04

Read, a lot

Read the Scriptures daily and go through a reading plan that takes you through the entire Bible in a year such as this one.

After that, just starting reading. Read along your interests and along your duties. And lest you think you must only read physical books, audiobooks count as reading. There are also many excellent podcasts, conference talks, videos, and blogs that will help you grow in your faith and formation as a Christian.

If you aren’t sure where to start, you can reference the library on this site for a starting point, though the recommendations there are not exhaustive.

05

Build A Household Economy

Your household should produce more than you consume.

Modernity has sold the lie of wage-slavery, and the lie is wearing thin. With the advent of AI, more and more office work will become outsourced to machines.

Many Alaskans are already working in a trade, which is great, but they work out in the villages separated from their families with no plans to leave an inheritance of a family business.

If at all possible, get a small plot of land, start growing a small garden, and keep a couple production animals. Buy high-quality tools so you can produce instead of defaulting to store-bought. There has never been an easier time to learn new skills and to produce things cheaply.

06

Join with likeminded Christians

Lone reformers are ineffective reformers. Find likeminded believers, sing together, read together, encourage each other, and start building together.

This is a long war, and if we’re going to win, which we will, we need to train up our children to fight alongside us. For that, we need Christian schools, churches, and businesses. For that, we need people pushing together in the same direction.

Start a Facebook group for your area, look for other churches in your area that might share your values, or host a book club talking about these ideas.

Remember, that if the Lord has called you to this work, and he will also call others. Pray and go for the Lord of hosts goes with you.
